The second season of Poetry writing Contest has been organized by Daya Foundation and Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-town. The theme of this contest is “Expressing Identity & Culture”. The contest is open to youths from age group 15 to 30 year old. The participants are encouraged to submit their original writing in Nepali or English on topics like “Cultural Shift: Then & Now”, “Culture Helping to Connect”, “Many Faces of Culture”, “What Culture means to Me?”, and “Can Culture boost your Identity?” by April 16, 2021 via this link:(bit.ly/sendmypoetry) 5 winners from each language category will be awarded with cash prize of worth NRs. 10,000/- each and 20 runner-ups will be awarded with other exciting cash prizes.
The panel of judges consists of experienced and qualified literary experts: A) English Category: Keshab Sigdel, Lisa Choegyal, Bal Bahadur Thapa, and Salil Subedi B) Nepali Category: Ram Prasad Dahal, Kumari Lama, Dhundi Raj Pahadi, and Thakur Sharma The judges will unanimously be selecting 5 winners from their respecting category and these winners will recite their poetry in a webinar. Organizer Daya Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial, technical and volunteer assistance to different projects running in areas of Education, Health and Culture. This contest is a part of Daya Foundation’s initiative to promote Culture. Organizer Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-town is organizing this as one of the initiative called “Young Professional Vocational/Skills Training” whose objective is to help develop their skills and equip them with various skill sets that they can apply in the practical field.
