Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has commented that India’s interference resulted in inundation in various places of Nepal’s south in the wake of continuous rainfall for the past few days.
In a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee in Parliament on Monday, the minister said, India built various roads along the border that worked as dams, claiming such structures blocked the flow of water causing inundation in different areas of Terai.
“Politically speaking, it is interference from India,” he said. Thapa added, Nepal had taken some initiatives to remove such structures but failed. “Some agreements were signed when the Indian PM visited Nepal, but they have not been implemented rightly,” he explained.
