Floods and landslides have claimed 88 lives within a month after the onset of monsoon. Another 32 people are missing.
According to the records, Myagdi, Sindhupalchowk, Parbat, Bajhang, Kaski, Jajarkot, Palpa, Lamjung and Gulmi districts have suffered the most loss of human lives. The other districts affected by the disaster are Jhapa, Chitwan, Salyan, Kalikot, Surkhet, Gorkha, Syangja, Baglung, Doti and Darchula.
In Myagdi, 27 people have lost their lives in the landslide occured in Dhawalagiri, Malika and Raghuganga Rural municipality whereas 4 others are missing.In Sindhupalchowk, 3 people have been killed and 20 others are still missing due to floods and landslides in Jambubazar and Bhotekoshi villages of Barhabise Municipality. In Kaski, landslides had made huge loss of life and property in Sarangkot, Hemja and Paitedanda. 7 persons were killed and 13 others were injured in the incident. In Jajarkot, in landslide, 9 people have been killed in Barekot Rural Municipality-4 and other places whereas 6 others are still missing.
In Palpa, 4 people lost their lives when disaster struck in Sambobari. In Bajhang, 7 people have lost their lives in a landslide. 1 person is still missing. In Gulmi, 5 people have died due to landslide. 1 person is still missing. Similarly, four people have died in Lamjung. 2 people have died in Rukum West and 2 in Darchula. Likewise, one each died in Gorkha, Syangja, Baglung, Doti, Salyan, Kalikot, Surkhet, Jhapa and Chitwan.
