Bharatpur Metropolis has unveiled the budget of Rs 4.15 billion for the fiscal year 2020/21 on Wednesday. The budget was presented before the sixth Metropolitan Assembly.
Out of the total budget, Rs 480 million has been allocated for the current expenditure.While unveiling the budget, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan City, Parbati Sah Thakuri said that the budget was focused on quarantine management, treatment of the COVID-19 infected persons and creation of jobs to those who returned home from abroad in the time of pandemic.
Fundamental rights of the people in the Metropolis would be gradually addressed, she said. She also informed that the resources would be identified and mobilized to make the Metropolis prosperous. For the prosperity of the Metropolis, economic, physical, social and environmental infrastructures would be created under the budget.
The budget has made the list of 11 prior area with urban beauty and land utilization, improvement on access to health service, education, agriculture and livestock development, environment conservation and greenery promotion and disaster management.
