Kathmandu, June 14: Deputy Minister for Health and Population Nawaraj Rawat has said that 20,000 COVID-19 test will be done daily. Stating that 4,000 to 5,000 corona is being tested using PCR method in Nepal at present, he said that the government is preparing to increase it to 20,000 to 22,000 daily.
Deputy Minister for Health Rawat said that some people from India were infected due to lack of quarantine as per the criteria. He said that the Ministry of Health had sent 35 doctors to the Far West after some cases of the virus were found in the area.

Minister of State Rawat said that the main reason for the increase in COVID-19  in Nepal is the citizens from abroad and India. He also said that the government’s attempt to keep Karnali in the green zone to protect it from corona infection had failed. He said that the people in India had contracted the disease when they came to the village.

After coming here, some people got  infected due to lack of quarantine management. Minister Rawat said that most of those who came out were infected.

Minister of State Rawat said COVID-19 control was possible. He expressed the view that attention should be paid to the administrative aspect of Karnali as Province 1, Province 2, Province 5 and Karnali are at high risk. He understands that there is no alternative to following the rules made by the World Health Organization for that. Wearing a mask, applying sanitizer, maintaining distance is the best idea to control the lethal disease. Corona has become a global problem not only in Nepal. Vaccines are being researched worldwide. He said that corona can be avoided if every citizen adheres to the public health standards recently introduced by the government. He said that the vaccine and medicine of Corona have not been found so far. He also stated the COVID-19  could not be controlled unless the number of people coming from India was reduced. Initially, up to 25,000 people entered Nepal daily, but in recent days that number has dropped to 5,000-6,000, he said.
Rawatal has also reduced the number of entry points to Nepal. Now, priority should be given to the PCR test of Nepali citizens coming to Nepal. He said that the infected should be kept in isolation and those who have not been infected should be sent home. He said that the fact that 5,000 PCR tests are being conducted in Nepal every day should be taken as a great achievement as they used to be sent abroad for testing.
Rawat said  the COVID-19 should be done to those come from India. He said that ministry  was preparing to buy 11 automation machines and test a large number of PCRs from major cities across the country. He said that it would be difficult to reduce the number of corona in Nepal unless the number of infected people in India decreased due to the open border. Millions of people in India are born on the streets, sleep on the streets, eat on the streets. He said that the population was now at high risk of infection, adding that most of those who entered Nepal, especially from India’s Maharashtra, were infected.
Stating that Maharashtra is the origin of Corona in India, he said that after one person became infected there, the infection spread easily to other families as well. Saying that Nepal is not in the same situation as Maharashtra in India, Rawat said that we should pay attention that we can fight against the disease. He said that the number of people coming from India is also decreasing. PCR must be increased to control the disease. Stating that private sector hospitals should also be involved in the treatment of COVID-19,he said that it is time to unite against this disease.
Stating that the quarantine could be unorganized in the villages, he said that the quarantine set up by the Center and the Nepal Army was very good. He claimed that the quarantine was made in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization.
