The Bagmati(state) government is going to be constructing ‘Pushpalal State Ring Road’ to benefit all the 13 districts of the state.The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development has stated that the ring road will be constructed in 10 out of 13 districts of the state except the Kathmandu Valley.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Rameshwor Phunyal informed that the circular road construction plan included in the policy and program of the first year of the formation of the government as a project of pride of the state will be implemented from the next fiscal year 2077/78 BS.
“We will start the construction of the giant ring road which would connect al 66 state constituencies in one way or another, from the next fiscal year onwards,” he said.He said that the feasibility study of the ringroad, preparation of detailed study report and other works have already been begun.
He said that the road project would get ‘better place’ in the next budget.Minister Phunyal also informed that the ministry will complete the work of preparing Bagmati State Transport Master Plan by mid-July this year and construction of state highways, state roads and urban roads will also start.
Phunyal said that the Bhaise-Bhimfedi and Kulekhani-Sisneri-Chaimle-Dakshinkali roads under the Madan Bhandari Marg connecting Hetauda to Kathmandu are being upgraded to two lanes and the work of blacktop will start soon.
It is said that Ramechhap will be reconnected from Ramechhap via Dolakha-Kavrepalanchok-Sindhupalchowk-Rasuwa-Nuwakot-Dhading-Chitwan-Makwanpur-Sindhuli.It is said that the construction work of Sindhupalchok Rasuwa section for the roundabout will be started immediately.
The state government, in collaboration with the federal government, will upgrade the roads connecting the district headquarters under the Chief Minister’s Road Program as a ‘year-round’ road to be completed in the next five years.
Similarly, the government plans to develop South Asia’s first man-made Churiyamai tunnel, built 104 years ago, as a study center by conserving it as a historical heritage of the state.
Similarly, the state government will establish and operate the state transport corporation limited for the operation of economical, safe, reliable and environment-friendly transport in the state as per the policy and program and encourage the use of electric vehicles, to make the transport service accessible, accessible, safe and systematic. And to provide online service and to develop scientific system of printing and distribution of driver’s license.
Similarly, the state government is going to set up an autovillage to manage the auto-mechanical workshops scattered in the capital. According to the detailed project report of the work of Autovillage, the village will be prepared and the entire automechanical workshop will be shifted to the autovillage within the next two years.
