Nepal has been a hot center for coronavirus every day the new cases are crossing 200 counts. Today, 278 cases were recorded in Nepal, taking the national tally to 2,912.
The entire week has been an outrageous number of COVID cases. As on Sunday it was 166 new infected cases, on Monday it was 239, Tuesday recorded 288 cases, Wednesday it was 201 cases, Thursday was the highest with 334 infected cases and one death.
Moreover, even today one death has been recorded due to COVID-19. The Health Ministry confirmed the death of a 28-year-old man from Surkhet. He got the polymerase chain reaction test on swab samples and came positive for COVID 19 after his death yesterday.
As per the statement of Dr. Bikash Devkota, spokesperson for the Health Ministry, “The man had come from India on May 21 and was placed in a quarantine facility at Janata Secondary School at Panchapuri Municipality Ward No. 9, Bidhyapur in Surkhet. He was sent home as he did not show symptoms of Covid-19 for 14 days and the rapid diagnostic test also came negative. The victim died on June 4.”
He also added, “Samples of 90 in Dailekh, 44 in Kapilvastu, 21 in Sunsari, 17 each in Mahottari and Ramechhap, 12 in Jhapa, seven in Jumla, six each in Morang and Rautahat, five each in Kavre, Bhojpur and Dadeldhura, four each in Kailali and Dhanusha, three in Bara, two each in Kathmandu, Sindhuli, Tanahu and Nawalparasi (East), and one each in Arghakhanchi, Dang, Palpa, Surkhet, Achham and Bajhang and tested positive for the virus at different laboratories across the country.”
The recoveries so far are 333, death is 11 and infected cases in 2912. Be prepared for a more growing number, of cases, as people have started to come outside and move on with their lives. Stay calm and take precautions.
