166 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed by The Ministry of Health and Population in Nepal. The country’s COVID-19 tally stands at 1567. The infected cases were 162 from male and the rest four were female.
Likewise, recoveries count is 220. And from the recent death of a person due to the COVID-19 has led the count to 8. The eight death was of a two-year-old toddler from Bajura on Sunday morning due to health complications. Moreover, seven out of eight deaths have been post-demise diagnoses.
Though the government had selected 97 hospitals as Covid-19 treatment facilities and allocated 1,624 isolation beds. Health Ministry officials announced that there won’t be any isolation beds in the next few days due to a rise in COVID cases.
Dr. Bikash Devkota, spokesperson for the Health Ministry informed,” Covid-19 patients will be sent to quarantine facilities set up at schools and public buildings, like in Birgunj and Nepalgunj. They will be monitored thereby trained health workers,” said Devkota. “We will then ask asymptomatic patients to go home.”
