The government finally is stepping up to evacuate its Nepalese citizens who has stuck aboard due to coronavirus. It also states the government, so far has the plan to evacuate citizens stuck in India.
The decision was announced on Friday by Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel at a meeting of the High-Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19. The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs has kept in charge to list up all who wish to return back, then, the government will prioritize them and evacuate accordingly which will begin after 1 week.
So, he planned phases to evacuate the citizen, the first phase will evacuate 25,000 Nepalese. But the data of 1.3 million citizens, who are wanting to return back, has come from India and other countries.
However, the ones returning will have to stay quarantined for 14 days in Kathmandu. The option of a hotel room will be given as per their preference and affordability. Hence, the government will provide quarantine facilities for the needy.
