May 27. Around 6,000 Nepalis have entered Nepal through various checkpoints in the far-western region on Tuesday. According to the Far Western Provincial Police Office, Dipayal, 5,113 Nepalis have entered Nepal through the Gauriphanta checkpoint in Kailali and 694 Nepalis have entered Nepal through the Gaddachauki checkpoint in Kanchanpur.
According to Dakshya Basnet, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Kailali, a large number of them have been sent to the concerned districts.
The number of Nepalis returning home for employment has increased due to the shortage of food in India. After entering Nepal in large numbers every day, they have to stay in quarantine and the local authorities have also seen problems in quarantine management.
