May 20,Corona infection has been confirmed in six people in Dhankuta.
A female health worker working at the District Hospital, Dhankuta, was infected with the Novel Corona Virus Covid 19 and 83 of her contacts were taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan for swab test.
Of the 83 swabs taken from Dhankuta, 67 swabs have tested positive for corona. According to the District Health Office, Dhankuta, reports of the remaining 16 are on the way.
The 34-year-old staff nurse working at the district hospital was confirmed to have corona only on Sunday.
A test conducted at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan on Tuesday evening confirmed the corona infection in five people. Among the confirmed, one policeman, one nurse from Sankhuwasabha, husband of the nurse, two health workers from Tankhuwa, Ward No. 7 have tested positive for corona in Dhankuta so far.
Three health workers, including a 24-year-old female health worker, a 28-year-old male health worker and a 28-year-old health worker, and a 35-year-old health worker and a 37-year-old husband of the health worker have tested positive for corona.
The medical superintendent of Dhankuta Hospital, Pujan Bishowkarma, said that 5 out of the 67 patients, three patient waiters(kuruwas),and the health workers working in the hospital and their family members were sent to Ghopa Cam Dharan for swab test on the suspicion of spreading the disease to others.
After the corona was found in the staff nurse on Sunday, the hospital was sealed off on Sunday. At present, the movement of people has been closed as the entire district has been sealed.
