May 18, The return of Nepalis in various occupations to India has added to the challenge with the high risk of corona infection. Nepalis have started returning to Nepal after the Indian government brought Railway into operation. The high risk of infection has increased as people, including students, workers and businessmen, have started returning from infected areas in India. For the past one year, Nepalis coming by rail have been forced to cross the border by Indian security personnel, adding to the challenges in their management.
As they enter Nepal from India at any time in the morning, afternoon, evening and night, the Tilathi Koiladi village municipality of bordering Saptari has been active in managing to keep their detailed personal biography at the border. Village Chairman Satish Kumar Singh informed that a temporary rest house is being constructed at Belahi (Kunauli Customs) of the border for Nepalis coming from India.
He said that Nepalis coming from other parts of the country will be asked to rest at the rest house immediately and at least breakfast will be arranged. According to Chairman Singh, a team of health workers would contact the concerned town / village and send them to quarantine after testing for fever.
Rajesh Kumar Jha, Disaster Management Officer of the village informed that such management work has been started as Nepalis coming from India are being sent to quarantine, health check-up and living in the heat of the road till the details are ready.
