The destructive virus spread has given us a very hard time. Everything has fallen and gone backward, the economy, the construction, the world! Will we ever be able to go back to where we survived?
On 14th May, Wednesday, Dr Mike Ryan (WHO emergencies director) said they are trying to predict when the virus would disappear. Also, added in a virtual press conference from Geneva, even if a vaccine was found, controlling the virus would require a “massive effort”. “It is important to put this on the table: this virus may become just another endemic virus in our communities, and this virus may never go away.”
Dr Ryan emphasized, though having more than 100 potential vaccines in development for other illnesses, such as measles, and yet they have not been eliminated. And here we are talking about COVID-19. Due to which 298,201 people died globally because of the COVID-19, and 4,430,806 cases recorded and 1,662,035recovered.
WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on a positive note stated it was still possible to control the virus, with effort. “The trajectory is in our hands, and it’s everybody’s business, and we should all contribute to stopping this pandemic.”
WHO epidemiologist Maria van Kerkhove settled saying, “We need to get into the mindset that it is going to take some time to come out of this pandemic.”
